Oprah?

My apologies for being out of touch. I’ve been in my cave working on tunes for the past few weeks but I have recently surfaced for some human contact because today, July 23 is my 23rd birthday. Wouldn’t dream of lying, I absolutely love birthdays…not because of the gifts (which are nice) but because they’re a great excuse to spend time with family and friends who you may otherwise not get the chance to see.

Anyways…

Here’s what’s new. The Sara Sara Cupcake Bakery (the charming little establishment that I play at on Saturday nights) has a shot at getting on Oprah. Long story as to the “how”, but the “how” is irrelevant. What’s important is the “when” and “why”. The “when” is sometime this fall and the “why” is because the incredible story of the Bakery, which was open by one of my best friends and his family in memory of his sister Sara, who passed away a little over 2 years ago due to heart failure. Because of association with the family and their establishment, I was asked to write a song for the video they’ll be submitting to one of Oprah’s producers in August, so I’ve been finishing up on that. If all goes well, we’ll all be on Oprah sometime this fall spreading the good of the cupcake and continuing to make Sara’s dream a reality.

On another note, I’m still in talks with a local record label and am meeting with the president of the company and Graham Colton for one final meeting to discuss specifics. More to come on that.

And as far as the next project goes, the music is close to being finished. However, how I choose to act next will be determined by this record deal. I’m incredibly happy with the direction the music has taken, and I feel that another self-produced project like “Magnetism” may not do this project justice, which is titled “Matters of Direction”. Again, time will tell and I’ll be sure to keep updating info on that regularly.

I guess that’s about it for now. Exciting times.
