Greetings Friends,
What with graduation looming and school coming to an end in the next two weeks, I’ve had a lot on my plate as far as papers and tests go, and because it’s the home stretch I’ve been trying hard not to completely neglect my studies. However, seeing as the past few weeks have been incredibly eventful musically, I thought I’d take a few moments to play catch up.
Firstly, my new E.P. Bounds and Leaps is complete and I can’t begin to describe how proud I am of the finished product. Produced by Graham Colton, Chad Copelin, and Jarod Evans at Blackwatch Studios in Norman, OK, I feel this record is the best and most honest collection of songs I’ve released to date, and I can’t wait to share them. Look for it on Itunes in the coming weeks!
Switching gears, this past week has been absolutely crazy as far as live shows go. From Saturday, April 17 to Sunday, April 25 I played 3 shows in addition to my weekly gigs at restaurants around town, and two of these shows were festivals/fundraisers. It’s such a different vibe playing for an actual audience as opposed to small groups of people dining out, who typically don’t pay much attention, and I forget how much fun I always have playing events such as the aforementioned. Suffice it to say that CD sales and business cards have been going quickly as of late, which is always gratifying! So, thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting…you guys make it all worth while during the discouraging stretches or when things get overwhelming.
Finally, I’ve been in my cave (what my mom calls my studio) working on a slew of new tunes, which, if I do say so myself, are turning out wonderful. Due to the raw nature of the recordings, I’m not sure if or when they’ll make it into the hands of the public, but these raw recordings increasingly bulk up my catalogue of originals (I believe I’m approaching 90!) Perhaps I’ll have to do something special for the 100th song when the day comes.
I’ve been in talks with my Entertainment Attorney and soon to be manager trying to finalize some contract issues, but I should officially have a manager in the next week or so, and without the burden of school to weigh me down, the upcoming summer should be an exciting one. Keep checking in and I promise to update more regularly.
